Melissa Figueroa is an active chaplain and sits on the Board. She is employed working as a paralegal. She has a strong sense of Christian values and has compassion for the less fortunate; she continues to pursue her spiritual roots in ministry. She has been selected through the chaplaincy to be elevated to a licensed Minister and is excited to know what God’s plan is for her life.
Julio is a clinical evaluator at Montefiore Hospital with understanding in conducting clinical evaluations to patients suffering from substance use and psychiatric co-occurring disorders, and medical comorbidities. This makes him a valuable asset to Manna of Life Ministries. He is passionate about promoting social justice, racial diversity and fighting inequality in underrepresented communities, and to serve children and the historically disadvantaged groups such as women, people of color and immigrants.
John & Julie Mitchell
Julia and John Mitchell are the owners of Alegre Insurance Agency in the Bronx. Prior to owning the agency Julia Mitchell is a retired NYC high school principal who was responsible for creating, implementing and supervising a building shared decision making team. She has a desire to share her knowledge and help people in distress.
John Mitchell is a service oriented insurance broker with years of experience reviewing financial statements, activity reports and performance data. He is also the board secretary at Crossroads Tabernacle.
Together this couple brings a wealth of skills to the board. Julia and John love to provide fellowship and joy to the community.
Jerry Antomattai is a Multiflow Pepsi distributer for over 20 years. He brings with him a tremendous amount of experience in customer service training, managing and motivating teams and maintaining customer reports. He is talented in organizing special events. Dr. Charles Esenwa
Charles Esenwa is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, clinical stroke neurologist at Montefiore Medical Center and Medical Director of stroke services at Montefiore Medical Center. He is dedicated to humanistic patient care and is the recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award, and the Columbia Neurology Daniel Sciarra patient care and humanism award. He has published on acute stroke management, stroke risk factors, secondary stroke prevention and stroke disparities, and is interested in advancing health care delivery to underserved populations on the local, national and international level.
Candido Gonzalez was raised in the Christian faith and was able to learn first-hand the administration of the church, importance of community work, networking, advocating, and being a servant in the community. He brings a wealth of knowledge in obtaining needed resources for the ministry. In his own words “ I love serving community and helping those less privileged.”
